Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce
by Coach Jamie
I love using my slow cooker in the winter. It's easy prep, and always provides me with leftovers.
One of my favorite things to make in the slow cooker is Spaghetti Sauce. Here's a great recipe with ground turkey. This recipe is great over spaghetti squash.

I love using my slow cooker in the winter. It's easy prep, and always provides me with leftovers.
One of my favorite things to make in the slow cooker is Spaghetti Sauce. Here's a great recipe with ground turkey. This recipe is great over spaghetti squash.
Ingredients
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 2 tablespoons Italian herb seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (I do enjoy spice)
- 1 pound ground turkey
Coat inside of slow cooker with cooking spray.
Using olive oil, brown the ground turkey with the onions and garlic. While it's browning on the stove, add all remaining ingredients to slow cooker and stir to combine.
Break ground turkey into chunks and add to the sauce. Stir and cover.
Cook on low for 6-7 hours. Stir cooked sauce, taste, and add more salt, if needed.
Serve over spaghetti squash and bon appetite!
